Dr Marios Vasiliou has been working in the Nursing Education Sector of the Ministry of Health since 2021. He graduated from the Department of Nursing, University of Athens and holds a Master’s degree in Community Nursing. Dr. Vasiliou has a Doctorate degree from the Department of Nursing of the Cyprus University of Technology. He’s research interests include issues such as home care, transcultural nursing and mainly cultural competence of the community nurses.
He specializes in the care of wounds and sores and presents his case studies at conferences every year and is the Secretary of the Cyprus Wound Management Society. Since 2014, Dr. Vasiliou has been teaching at academic institutions, the following courses at Bachelor Level (Nursing Assessment and Surgical Nursing) and Master’s Level (Public Health – Community Nursing and Transcultural Nursing). He participates as a scientific member in the Cyprus team in 2 projects of the ERASMUS Programme – Key Action. He also participates on an on-going survey called “Survey on Inter Relationships and Sexuality” in secondary schools of Cyprus, in cooperation with the Institute for Reproductive Medicine Cyprus and the Cyprus Youth Board.
