Professor Yannakoudakis is the Chairperson of the Computer Science Department at Philips University. He is an Emeritus Professor of Computer Science and has served as a Consultant / Advisor of the European Union since 1982. He is also an Associate Editor / Referee for several international journals and an external examiner for Ph.D. candidates throughout Europe and Africa. He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS), Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.), and Chartered Information Technology Professional (CITP). He has designed special information systems for three Presidents of the Republic of Greece and has published 140 papers in international journals and conference proceedings, as well as 20 books, some of which are with international publishers. His main research areas include: Artificial Intelligence, Expert Systems, Speech Synthesis & Recognition Systems, Information Systems, Library Automation, Information Retrieval, Psychometric Databases, Design of Psychometric Tests, and Human Resources Management.
