Biography

Currently I serve as the Head of the Department of Business Administration (DBA) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and the Director of the Cybernetics and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. As an undergraduate I studied at the Economics Department of the NKUA and completed my graduate studies at Columbia University in the City of New York, with an M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Economics, with specialization in theoretical and applied econometrics and time series analysis. From 1998 to 2003 I was Assistant Professor in the Economics Department at Florida International University in Miami, where I taught undergraduate and graduate econometrics and statistics and graduate time series analysis courses. In 2005 I became Associate Professor at the Department of Economics at the University of the Peloponnese, and in July 2009 Full Professor at the same department. I served as Head of the Department of Economics at the University of Peloponnese from 2013 until 2021. From March 2021 I became Full Professor at DBA-NKUA. I serve as Deputy Director at the International Centre for Economic Analysis and as Co-Editor to the Review of Economic Analysis and as Associate Editor to the Journal of the Operational Research Society and the IMA Journal of Management Mathematics. My current research interests are in the area of AI-enabled learning, prompt engineering, creative writing prompts, forecasting and time series analysis, quantitative investment strategies, statistical and probabilistic inference in decision making and classical decision making.
