Maroulis Dionysios studied Classical and then Medieval and Modern Greek Philology at the University of Ioannina. As a scholar of the Academy of Athens, he completed postgraduate studies in the History of Philosophy at the National University of Athens and wrote a doctoral thesis as a scholar of the National University of Athens on the poetry of C. P. Cavafy at the Lomonosov Moscow State University entitled “The Ancient Greek Myth in the Work of C. P. Cavafy”. He has been teaching since 2008 in schools and universities in Greece and abroad (MGU, MGIMO, National University of Athens, etc.). He has been systematically involved in the teaching of Greek as a foreign language to Russian speakers, publishing two books in Russia. He takes part in international scientific conferences and publishes articles in reputable journals. His scientific interests are related to the theory and teaching of literature as well as innovations and experimentation in teaching practice. He often organizes and participates in actions to promote Greek culture abroad. He occasionally writes articles for the website Culturebook.gr. He currently serves as Director of the Athens Art School. He is an amateur poet, occasionally publishing his own poems in magazines and websites.
