Biography

Kosmas Pipyros is Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science of Philips University. He holds a PhD in Information Systems Security from Athens University of Economics and Business, Department of Informatics, an MSc in Information Systems from the same University and an LLB in Law from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Kosmas has more than 15 years of knowledge and relevant experience in the field of Cybersecurity, International Law and Data Privacy as well as practical experience in Information Technology matters. He served in the Ministry of National Defence of Greece and the National Guard of Cyprus as Military Legal Advisor and as an Intelligence Officer specializing in issues of International Law of Cyber Operations, Cybersecurity and Data Protection. He was also employed in the industry sector as the Information Technology Security Officer and as a manager of Cyber Security Services at KPMG Cyprus providing advisory services to a range of clients in the Banking, Finance and Healthcare sectors. His research interests fall within the wider realm of Cybersecurity, Privacy, and International Law from a variety of disciplinary perspectives.
