Dr. Vassilios Grammatikas is an Assistant Professor of Public International Law at the Dept. of Political Science of the Democritus University of Thrace (Greece), specializing in the protection of minorities. His research interests also extend to general human rights, use of force and issues on terrorism.
His teaching and other scientific activities include presentations in many conferences, and seminars, teaching in postgraduate courses (Greece, Turkey), while he was a visiting professor 4 times at the University of Torun (Poland). He also served as an election observer for the OSCE and the EU in Balkan and Black Sea countries (Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Montenegro, Bosnia, Russia and Albania) and in Africa (Tanzania). He is the author of the book “International Protection of Minorities and their treatment in the Black Sea Countries of the former USSR” and of many articles and chapters in collective volumes.
