I am currently a PhD student at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, specializing in computer-aided drug design and drug discovery, where I work on designing new therapeutic drug candidates aimed at proteins related to human diseases. My professional profile has recently been diversified by taking on a new teaching role at Phillips University of Nicosia, where I give lectures for the students in the nursing department. This not only adds to my academic portfolio but also helps me play a part in the training of the next generation of health professionals. My research focuses on the use of computational methods for the analysis and design of inhibitors targeted against essential proteins involved in a number of diseases. This course of study is designed to cope with some aspects of fundamental chemistry and its relation to medicine so that new ways of treating patients may be discovered. With the progression of my academic qualifications and work experience, I hope to make a meaningful contribution towards achieving the objectives of education and scientific research and practice in the area of drug design and medicinal chemistry.
