Professor Finokaliotis is at present Professor of Tax Law at Philips University. He was appointed Chair Professor of Tax Law at the School of Law at the Aristotle University in 1995, a position that he held until his retirement. He also served as President (2001 -2005) of the School of Law of AUTH and as a member of the Supreme Special Court for two years and as a member of the Supreme Special Court of Misdemeanors. He is an author of many books and articles in the area of tax law and has delivered numerous presentations in national and international seminars and conferences in the area of tax law.
Currently, Prof. Finokaliotis is focusing his research on the Tax System in the E.U. for the Digital Single Market. The Digital Single Market is one of the 10 political priorities of the European Commission. As digital transformation of the economy accelerates, the current tax rules need to be amended and interpreted in order to ensure fair and effective taxation.
