Course Description

Neuroscience is a speciality, where the role of the specialist neuroscience nurse is complex and multifaceted requiring specialist knowledge and skills. In addition, the nurses working within the area will encounter a wide variety of off-service patients and conditions, so they have to demonstrate cross functionality and adaptability in the application of knowledge to practice.

This course focuses on introducing basic and foundational concepts related to neuroscience nursing. Students will explore neurology and other sub specialties the barriers and faciliators associated with managing neurological disorders. 

Furthermore, the program aims to equip individuals with a sound knowledge and specialised skills of neuroscience nursing in order to provide high quality care to patients. That is mean that the student will be able to provide fundamental, evidence-based, effective and timely care to the patient with a neuroscience condition in a dynamic healthcare environment.
