Specifically, the objectives of the course are to:

  • Enable students to develop further the skills and knowledge gained on the program by applying them to the analysis of a specific problem or issue, via a substantial piece of independent work carried out over an extended period.
  • Enable students to demonstrate proficiency in the design of a research project, application of appropriate research methods, collection and analysis of data, and presentation of results.
  • Develop in students an ability to extract and present meaningful information from quantitative data and to critically evaluate their results in relation to organizations.
  • Develop in students an ability to critically evaluate forecasting methods and models for public organizations.
  • Give students the ability to construct effective forecasts and to interface these with real problems and strategies.
