This course introduces students to the economic foundations and management perspectives of regional development and competitiveness. It explores why some regions grow faster than others, how firms and institutions shape regional performance, and what strategies governments, businesses, and development agencies use to enhance competitiveness in a globalized economy.
Students will learn to analyse regions as economic systems, understand the role of innovation, clusters, infrastructure, and governance, and apply managerial and policy tools to real-world regional development challenges.
