Course Description

Course purpose is to introduce the student to private and especially civil law. After studying the fundamental concepts of civil law, such as the subjects of law, the legal relation, the right and its categories – where emphasis is given especially on personality rights and on the prohibition of abuse of rights – attention is drawn to the preparation of the legal act, its interpretation, press issues, the limits of contractual freedom, as set forth by the statutory law and good morals, the legal treatment of error, fraud and intimidation, as well as the institution of representation. This is the first part of  teaching the Greek law of contracts and law of torts, which is completed with the courses of general and regulatory law of contracts and law of torts during the next semesters.
