In recent years it has been observed that conventional waste treatment plants can not completely remove components such as: pathogenic microorganisms, non-biodegradable organic compounds, organic micro-pollutants, heavy metals, small particles that do not precipitate. The aim of this course is to introduce students to new treatment methods, which means that research has focused on improving the efficiency of waste treatment processes. We will refer to the most important of these technologies which are applied to various types of waste, whether municipal or industrial waste.
