Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences

The Department devotes its efforts in education, research and contribution to society activities.

By recruiting and developing Faculty committed to teaching excellence, research and scholarship, the Department aims to offer students a broad perspective coupled with sufficient specialization to meet professional and career requirements in the field of the degree they pursue.

By developing, monitoring and improving academic programs with engaging academic and administrative staff, the Department aims to achieve continuous academic quality and relevance to changing conditions, bearing in mind the expectations of all its stakeholders.

The Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences is more concerned in operational and tactical planning that provides the University with the tools and insight to implement the overall integrated strategic plan.  A strategy committee consisted of selected members of Faculty, Administration Staff, External experts   meets before the beginning of each semester, to identify:  

• Identifies resource needs (faculty, staff, facilities, other) for the Department.
• Assists the Dean of School in designing and implementing integrated long-range plans and programs of the School;
• Develops annual Departmental budgets for allocating funds for instruction, research, and faculty development.
