Philips University Faculty Chair Sessions at the 5th Doctoral Colloquium

On April 4, 2026, Philips University participated in the 5th Doctoral Colloquium hosted by Neapolis University Pafos under the auspices of the Cyprus Universities Rectors’ Conference (CURC).

Dr. Kyriakos Christodoulides and Dr. Iacovos Ioannou served as session chairs in the Physical Sciences, Technology, and Engineering strand, overseeing doctoral research presentations from across Cypriot universities.

Dr. Kyriakos Christodoulides, a multidisciplinary data scientist with expertise in Data Science, Business Analytics and Scientific Modelling, chaired Group 6 in the Keryneia Amphitheatre. The session included research presentations on topics such as embodied carbon assessment and environmental management systems.

Dr. Iacovos Ioannou, an expert in engineering systems, AI and Data analytics, chaired Group 8 in Room G2. This group covered research areas ranging from biodegradable composites to urban accessibility frameworks. The colloquium provides a platform for doctoral candidates to present their work and engage with the broader academic community in Cyprus. The participation of faculty as session chairs reflects Philips University’s ongoing involvement in supporting doctoral research and contributing to the development of the local academic landscape”.
