Dr. Gerasimos Rompotis graduated from the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2000. In 2002, he received his Master’s Degree in “Applied Economics and Finance” from the same Department, while in 2016 he received his PhD in Economics with financial major, also from the same Department. He is a Certified Public Accountant with both the Hellenic Association of Chartered Accountants (SOEL) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of Great Britain (ACCA). He has worked for several audit firms in Greece including the Company “KPMG Certified Public Accountants S.A.”. During his professional career, he has worked in several statutory and special audits for important Greek and multinational companies from the private sector, while he has also worked in audits of many organizations from the public sector. He specializes in the Greek Accounting Standards, International Financial Reporting Standards, the Consolidated Financial Statements of Group of Companies, as well as Internal Audit. Moreover, he teaches accounting and finance courses in several undergraduate and postgraduate programs of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece. His research activity is rich as he has published over 90 research papers and articles in international peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of Behavioral Finance, Managerial Finance Journal, Journal of Index Investing, Journal of Alternative Investments, Journal of Asset Management, Journal of Trading, American Journal of Finance and Accounting, Studies in Economics and Finance, Global Business and Economics Review, and the International Journal of Finance, while he has presented his work at domestic and international scientific conferences, too. His research interests focus mainly on accounting, international capital markets, institutional portfolio investment, investment behavior, socially and environmentally responsible investment issues, and business performance appraisal.
